Namyi Kim

I read an autobiography of 'Linus Torvalds', whose book name was 'Just for Fun', in 2000. It was said that the beginning of 'Linux' development was just for fun. After reading this book, my thoughts on programming changed. Before that, I was thinking of programming passively as a tool for university homework and company work. However, after that,it changed me to try to develop programs to support me, such as movie players and programs to automatically power off my desktop PC. I have come to like programming. And I had already decided where I was going at the time. I was interested in cellular phone development because it was integrated into lots of technologies, even though the device was so small. I hoped to see and touch it. So I joined a mobile game company, and I worked there as an engineer instead of in the military. I finished my military duty in 2005 and came back to my university. In 2006, Richard Stallman came to Korea and gave a lecture. He explained the GNU spirit and talked about free software. It was an opportunity for me to rethink programming. I graduated from university in 2007, and I could join Samsung Electronics. And I was able to participate in various projects at Samsung. You can see all my projects below.
